Life's lessons.

I learned at a young age, that when something speaks to you, you run and live by it. Fancy shoes, sprinkled cakes, and funny people are a few of the things that I can honestly say that I have appreciated my entire life. It just so happens that pastel colors and feminine frocks are also on the list. When I saw Christian Cota's Spring 2011 RTW collection, I about died. The short and blazer combination spoke to me and the sheer black romper made me it's water boy. What staples have been constant in your life.

Reverie.

When it comes to dreaming, I can honestly say that I rightfully deserve the trophy for most random collaborated story lines. Let me start by saying that I am, and always have been, a huge animal person - not  literally, but I love animals and if I could, I would have fifteen different sanctuaries for abandoned and abused animals.

Phase two of my point: My friend called me last night, expressing that there were six tiny kittens wobbling across the parking lot of a restaurant, underneath a dumpster. At this point I am beyond sad and feeling desperate to save them. I immediately wrote to our local SPCA telling them about the kittens, and guess what they wrote back? Guess!

"Sad. That's what happens when pets aren't neutered or spayed."

Really? Thanks for that, SPCA.

In my mind I like to think that they are investigating as we speak, but when I went to bed last night, apparently I was bothered.

I had a dream that I had to try and save hundreds of puppies from aggressive disease infected older dogs. I have never been so panicked in my life. This morning when I woke up, I could barely breathe and even now, writing this on my tissue, dayquil and g2 clad home desk, I am thinking about those little kittens. I may or may not need to make a rescue attempt later.

I have a suprise...

Hint 1.

I have those shoes, not in gold... but in snake skin and I love love love 'em! That's not the surprise but it borderlines. I have a few months to make some major moves and plans and right now my mind is going off in a million different directions. I am very excited!

Alexander Wang Spring 2011 RTW

It's a little crazy to me that Fashion Week is already here and running. As fast as the Mercedes Benz signs went up, I fell enamored by the Alexander Wang Spring 2011 even faster. The models parading down the runway evoked mirages of sailboats swiftly flowing with the current. I have always had a slight attraction to sailboats so it comes as no surprise that this collection may or may not already be a spring favorite. The anti-black theme with hints of bronze, leaves me with an optimistic impression ready to start fresh.

Sense of style.

Ever since I saw An Education, I have had a slight crush on this girl. She made me want to walk around and say things such as, reading English, or randomly throw in french words during every day conversation. With that being said, I a, simply adoring Carey Mulligan in Vogue US October 2010. Her hat reminds me of a huge oreo cookie, which I can't even talk about right now, because this cold has run away with my sense of smell and taste making eating unenjoyable. Although, dark chocolate ice cream sounds incredible right now. N'est pas?

La fete du Cuppity Cake.

Today is extremely special and a day that I've been looking forward to for quite some time. One year ago exactly, I decided to start out in the blogging community, with Cuppity Cake! It's been a year? Really?  Really?! Is it too early to claim obsession? Okay, good. I'm obsessed. Obsessed with what I stumble across on a day to day basis, obsessed with the amazing people that I've met, and obsessed with how much blogging has taught me within just 365 days. Here's to another 12 months of killer shoes, luring desserts, new blogettes, random ramblings, and the day by day adventures of Keri. With a new year comes new surprises. Stay tuned.

Cheers. xx

Revamping.

As stated yesterday, my work area was overdue for a pick me up. De-cluttering was the first and foremost step of the process. I had too much on my desk area, so simply enough, I did away with everything leaving only a lamp, small vase of peonies, my laptop insane, right?, and a pretty picture frame. Suddenly it felt like an entirely different space and I could actually breathe... sort of. You see, this year has been plagued with colds. In the past two months I've been blessed with at least six.... okay two, which is completely unacceptable given I never used to get sick. I blame it on the drastic roller coaster of temperatures. That, and a slight case of The Hills withdrawal. On a side note, amidst the flowing sun dresses and strappy sandals, I forgot how comforting and beautiful knits and tall leather boots can be.
